About the Blog

Callie is a four year old pomapoo (half pomeranian, half poodle) who suffered from luxating patella on her left hind leg. The bones in her back leg were misshapen and her little kneecap kept popping out of position! When her knee dislocated this way she became temporarily lame, and "hopped" until she was again able to flex her knee normally. Her case was so severe that she needed surgery in order to stop painful arthritis and eventual lameness.

Originally this blog was intended to share information about fundraising events and to share Callie's story. Thanks to generous donations, we were able to pay for Callie's surgery on April 7th, 2011! The blog will follow Callie's progress as she recovers from the intensive operation.
